2 Bundeswehr
fCultural note: Bundeswehr The Bundeswehr is the name for the German armed forces. It was established in 1955, first of all for volunteers, but since 1956 there has been compulsory military service for all able-bodied young men of 18. In peacetime the Defence Minister is the head of the ‘Bundeswehr’, but in wartime the Bundeskanzler takes over. The ‘Bundeswehr’ comes under the jurisdiction of NATO.
